Development
The exhibition boards displayed at the public exhibition are available to view on this page. They highlight the three separate sites which will be submitted as one planning application to Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council (MBC).
The proposals will see Olive Hill Primary School (Site A) gain two new sports pitches, two new tarmac areas, an Early Years Learning Centre and an environmental zone. This will dramatically improve Olive Hill’s facilities for primary school children in the area.
The land off Stewarts Road (Site B) will see the creation of a new cricket pitch with practice nets, bowling green and pavilion as well as managed landscape zones to enhance the ecology of the area. The new facilities will help the club to improve youth cricket in the area.
The proposals for the current Coombs Wood Sports and Social Club site (Site C) are for approximately 80 high quality family houses to provide a mix of bungalows, two bedroom, three bedroom and four bedroom houses in landscaped surroundings.
The Olive Hill Primary School enhancements and the proposed cricket pitch and facilities at land off Stewarts Road will take up circa 7 acres out of 120 acres of land commonly referred to as Coombeswood Green Wedge.
There has already been a public exhibition which was held on 12th March 2008 at
Olive Hill Primary School. Feedback cards were available for members of the local
community to write any comments they wished to make regarding the three proposals.
